Having a strong interest in dressage and qualified to teach riders in a range of disciplines, including show jumping and eventing, Shaun offers private lessons and clinics for the enthusiastic and dedicated rider.
Her background as both a professional rider and teacher allows her to connect well with her students and their mounts, helping them to develop the knowledge and confidence to achieve their individual goals. Whether that be simply enjoying the sport of riding or competing at the highest levels.
Shaun tailors her instruction to the individual needs of each horse and rider combination, with particular focus on:
- rider position and the horses understanding of their aids
- horse and rider preparation from Preparatory to Grand Prix
- improving the understanding of the horse and coping with confidence
- balance, control and engagement

E.A. Level II Coach Educator
E.A. Level I General
All instruction is undertaken in the full size Indoor Floodlit Arena, allowing for all weather and any time instruction. The Indoor Arena is also available for hire on an hourly basis. Please contact Shaun 0407 200 907 for details.
Lessons are $80 / hour per session.
NB: School horses are not available. Riders are required to bring their own horses. Holding yards and float parking is available onsite.
Coach Training
Training sessions are available on request at Hunter Valley Equestrian Centre.
Our trainees will enjoy a fun and interactive sessions and are welcome to bring their own horses.
Training and assessment can be undertaken for EA Riding, Horse Management and coaching certificates of all levels.

Hunter Valley Vaulting Team
The Hunter Valley Vaulting Team has been based at HVEC for around 12 years. The central location, under cover arena and the added bonus of our horses living onsite, make it the perfect base for our sport.
HVVT currently have two vaulting horses and 15 vaulters and are coached and lunged by EA Vaulting Coach and lunger, Sharna Kirkham.
The club runs two teams, the Showcase Team and a high level elite team. Both teams compete at State level and are current champions in both level freestyles. The canter team are also National Champions.
At HVVT we work hard to develop our skills in the sport of vaulting. Our horses Ben and Cruise are our most important athletes and work very hard helping their vaulters reach their goals.
We also run come and try days in the school holidays where outsiders can try our awesome sport!
